Parent’s Corner- May 5, 2019

 

“Though you have not seen him, you love him.  Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with the joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.” 1 Peter 1:8

 

May the joy of knowing that you Savior lives fill you to overflowing with joy!  In this very busy season of the year, may your whole family experience joy in each other, in your various activities that fill your day, and in the knowledge that you serve a Risen Lord who loves you!

 

This week in Sunday School. . .

 

2/3s- Jesus Changes Paul

Scripture- Acts 9:1-20

Lesson Truth- Jesus changed Paul into a friend.

Aims for the Children- to do at least one of the following during the lesson

2.     Act out the Bible story

3.     Tell who changed Paul

4.     Express assurance that Jesus always loves them even when they’re naughty

Scripture- 1 Kings 8:1-9:9

Principle- Christians must learn to depend on God’s faithfulness.

Ask Your Child- How was God faithful in today’s lesson?

Apply- By rejoicing that God is faithful.

This Week- As a family, read 1 Kings 8:1-9:9

 

Children’s Church- The Jews Resist the Holy Spirit

Scripture- Acts 6:1-7:61

Lesson Goal- The child will not resist the Holy Spirit when the Gospel is preached.

Bible Truths-

1.     Stephen preached the gospel.

2.     The Jews said that Stephen blasphemed God.

3.     The Jews rejected Stephen’s message.

Key Verse- “You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears!  You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your father’s did, so do you.”  Acts 7:51
