Article XVI: Marriage Policy

Grace Church affirms that marriage is the exclusive and permanent covenant union before God of one man and one woman, being a bond which is rightly sundered by nothing except death. Grace Church affirms, furthermore, that marriage is the only legitimate and acceptable context for sexual union and sexual relationships.

Grace Church will only marry, or allow its buildings to be used for the marriages of, those who are members of Grace Church in good standing (i.e., not in the process of church discipline as outlined in Article XIV) or are regularly-attending non-members who have sought and received Elder approval.

This policy reflects our conviction that we ought only to marry believers who are intent on pleasing God in every area of their lives and are rightly related to the local church for the purpose, among others, of accountability in their marriage vows and righteous living.
