“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the Word of Truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

If you walk through the halls of our church CE wing at about 7:05 pm each Wednesday evening, you will likely hear 60+ kids reciting this verse at the top of their lungs.  This is our AWANA theme verse. . . the goal of each child who works to memorize Scripture verses each week.  Why do they do this?  Yes, they do receive shares, and yes, they are always excited to spend those shares in the AWANA store, but ultimately, they know that hiding God’s Word in their heart is one of the most important investments they can make.  Having God’s Word accessible at any time, day or night, with or without a Bible, is a true blessing!  That is the benefit of memorizing Scripture!

What verses are you and your family meditating on these days?  Do you have a family verse, or a passage that you are wanting to memorize together?  If so, keep it up!  Blessings abound!  If not, it's not too late!  Choose something and start today!  (A little tip. . . anything set to music is usually easier to memorize!
