Rest

Parent’s Corner- September 2, 2018

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Rest.  Of all of the precious commodities, this can be one of the most elusive for parents.  Kids too!  There are so many good options of ways to fill our time and minds, and only so many hours in the day.  As I am reflecting over the past couple weeks in my own family’s life, I have made a realization. . . much of what I have been trying to accomplish of late has been through my own strength, without relying on the Lord and His power as much as I should.  I have prayed for God’s guidance and wisdom, but then I have continued to think, ponder, reason, and not rest in Him as I should.  That changes today!

How about you?  Is there an area in your life that you need to let go so you can rest your mind and rely on God?  Know that you are not alone, and I am praying for you!  He wants us to rest when we rely on Him.  He’s got this. . . and us.
