Sunday School Classes

The overarching focus of our Sunday School classes will be “the faith once delivered” (Jude 3).

The particular classes offered have the goal of helping us properly define and understand the faith, share and defend the faith, and order our lives and our homes in light of the faith.

Here are the three classes that we will offer this Fall:

  • Evangelism & Apologetics: "That's a Great Question!" - Paul Rupple, Elder - Room CE10/11
The author of Ecclesiastes was searching, like our friends, family and neighbors, for the answer to life's biggest question. From where, what, or whom can I find true and lasting meaning? This class will help you to better understand and effectively convey that answer to those searching for it. Whether the question relates to meaning, truth, God's existence, or Jesus' resurrection, we'll address these and help you to convey those answers to others.

  • The Christian Home: “A Home Rooted and Grounded in the Gospel?” - Lance Hinkle and Wes Karsten, Elders - Room CE12
This class will help us evaluate our homes and encourage us towards rooting and grounding our homes in the gospel. What makes a home distinctly Christian? How do the current cultural flow and our own wayward hearts pull us away from the gospel? We will discuss what areas like marriage, discipline, discipleship, family habits, technology use, extracurricular involvement, and hospitality might look like in light of the gospel. Whether single or married, young or old, we hope this class is an encouragement for all, as we seek to live out the gospel amongst the household of God, the Church.

  • Christian Doctrine: "Trinitarian Theology and the Nicene Creed" - Pastor Kipp Soncek - Room CE13
Want to learn more about our Triune God? How about a little church history? And if that's not enough, how about a study on the development of doctrine? If that describes you, this is your class! We will strive to learn these things while asking the Lord to deepen our love for Him, our joy in Him, and our devotion to Him, through practical, conversational, and applicational engagement.

We are looking forward with much excitement to seeing how our Lord uses this new structure to further build up His body here in Warrenville. We hope you will join us in that excitement and plan on participating in a class this coming Fall.
