What is missing?

Parent’s Corner- August 25, 2019

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”  2 Timothy 3:16-17

Something is missing in this picture!  There is only a part of a whole on the plate.  You can’t view the entirety of the cupcake, only the piece that is being examined.  It’s evident that there has been a piece removed.  This portion would not exist in this way by itself.

This week, we have review lessons in most of our classes.  In Sunday School, we are making the transition from the Old Testament to the New Testament.  In Children’s Church, we are reviewing the New Testament in order to start over again in Genesis next week.  It is important to take time to step back and view the Bible as a whole.  Yes, it is great to study a passage and see what the Lord would have for us in it, but it is also important to see how the piece fits into the larger whole.

As you read the Bible this week, and as you parent, be sure to see the pieces and parts as portions of a larger whole.  You’ll see the bigger picture, and you’ll be thankful you did!
