Parent’s Corner- August 4, 2019

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”  Matthew 5:16

The other night, I was sitting on our back porch, enjoying the breeze and the sights and sounds of summer evenings.  Seeing the fireflies (or lightening bugs, depending on where you are from) took me right back to my childhood.  It was always a game to predict where they would be.  They were constantly moving, lighting up at unexpected times, bringing delight to those who saw them.  Sounds like kids, right?  Always moving? For sure!  Saying unexpected things? Always! Bringing delight? What a blessing when this happens!  When you catch your little “fireflies” doing something that pleases you, and therefore pleasing their Heavenly Father, be sure to let them know!  Who knows, they might even “light up” even more!

May the Lord bless your parenting this week and bring unexpected joy and light to your life!
