Putting Your Bible to Good Use

Parent’s Corner- November 11, 2018

Sword Drills.  Did you participate in them in your Sunday school classes when you were young?  Do you remember sitting on the edge of your seat, just waiting for the Scripture verse to be called out so you could flip through your Bible to find it?  Did you ever “prep” your Bible by putting your fingers in strategic places so you could go from there?  Well, I’ve been told I have a competitive streak, so maybe that was just me. ; )

While children’s story Bibles certainly have their place, and can be a wonderful way to read a Bible passage in a more “kid friendly” format, any time invested in helping a child navigate his/her way through the “real thing” can have a lasting impact.  The more a child becomes familiar with the book and the way it is organized, the deeper his/her understanding of the Bible as a whole. . . a definite investment in spiritual development!

May you find joy in your parenting journey this week!
